Community Collaboration
Collaboration with the national community is a key driver for both center activities. CIP includes two cyberinfrastructure-related collaborative activities: hosting a nationally focused Cyberinfrastructure Technology Watch group, and joint NCSA and SDSC user advisory activities.
Cyberinfrastructure Technology Watch
Cyberinfrastructure success depends on coordination of current efforts and strategic planning in context with current and future technology trends. CT Watch seeks to identify trends that are important for scientists developing an evolutionary research agenda and critical for technologists seeking to provide cutting-edge resources to the science community.
Joint User Advisory Committee and All Hands Meetings
To provide feedback on the scope and quality of infrastructure, resources and user services, NCSA and SDSC have constituted a Joint User Advisory Committee for Cyberinfrastructure (JUACC) with separate NCSA and SDSC subcommittees (NUAC and SUAC, respectively) to cover site specific topics. The JUACC and its subcommittees meet twice yearly with the centers. leadership and provide reports to NSF. The goal of the JUACC Meeting is to ensure not only that each individual center is providing useful resources and services through the separate subcommittee sessions, but also that there is coordination of the resources and services for the benefit of the national user community.
