Web-based Tutorials
WebCT-HPC is the web-based training site for High Performance Computing (HPC) and Cyberinfrastructure (CI) hosted by the National Center for Supercomputing Applications (NCSA). This web-based training environment has been used successfully to deliver online, asynchronous training to users of HPC and CI resources. The first course delivered, “Introduction to MPI”, has had thousands of individual student logins created since it was made available in October 2000.
WebCT-HPC courses are delivered via WebCT, a commercially available course management system that enables development and delivery of online courses. This system provides an easy-to-use environment for both students and course developers.
The URL for the WebCT-HPC homepage is: http://webct.ncsa.uiuc.edu:8900. Anyone interested in learning more about HPC and CI is welcome to take the courses offered free of charge. More courses will be delivered on topics of interest to the CI community under the CI Partnership (CIP) between NCSA and the San Diego Supercomputer Center. If you have a course topic you would like to suggest please contact training@ncsa.uiuc.edu.
Course Evaluations
To determine if the courses offered are meeting the needs of the user community, an evaluation form is included with each course. Completion of an evaluation is not mandatory but feedback is appreciated and used to determine if improvements are needed. You may view the evaluation results received to-date to see what students think of the courses.
